HELP Logistics, Thammasat University, the Kühne Logistics University (KLU), and the ASEAN Coordinating Centre for Humanitarian Assistance on disaster management (AHA Centre) have partnered to develop a world-class curriculum for humanitarian logistics officers in ASEAN countries. The ASEAN Humanitarian Logistics Training Programme for Officer Level aims to equip officers with the necessary skills and knowledge to respond to natural disasters effectively and efficiently.

Supported by the United States Government through the ASEAN-USAID Partnership for Regional Optimisation within the Political-Security and Socio-Cultural Communities (PROSPECT), the programme covers key topics on disaster preparedness and humanitarian logistic management. It satisfies the competency requirements currently defined in the ASCEND certification scheme for the officer level.

During the first in-person workshop held on March 21, 2023, the attendees reviewed the curriculum's content and discussed the Training of Trainers (ToT) programme scheduled for early May. The ToT programme aims to equip trainers with the knowledge and skills to deliver effective training sessions, to provide officers with a comprehensive understanding of the latest technologies and best practices.

The initiative highlights the importance of collaboration and knowledge-sharing in addressing the challenges faced by the humanitarian logistics sector, especially with the increasing frequency and intensity of natural disasters due to climate change. The joint efforts of HELP Logistics, Thammasat University, and the AHA Centre demonstrate the positive impact of working together to refine the content and delivery of the programmes and better equip humanitarian logistics officers to respond to natural disasters in the region.
