HELP Logistics announces a new strategic engagement with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) to assess and enhance FAO’s supply chain maturity, with a particular focus on logistics operations. This collaboration aims to develop a fit-for-purpose logistics model and strategy, strengthening FAO’s capacity to deliver more resilient and efficient global operations.
Over the next ten months, HELP Logistics will assess FAO’s logistics practices, focusing on strategic readiness, operational maturity, systems, data architecture, and financial performance. Drawing on our experience with successful strategy development for humanitarian partners, we will implement best practices and innovative approaches to align with FAO’s operational needs.
Our team will engage stakeholders, conduct field assessments, and use data-driven analysis to create a clear transformation roadmap. A dedicated HELP Logistics supply chain consultant will be seconded to FAO to ensure daily support for the assessment. “Through this partnership, we aim to support FAO in optimizing its logistics and supply chain operations, ensuring a more effective and sustainable impact in the regions where it operates,” said Jonas Stumpf, HELP Logistics Europe Regional Director. “By integrating innovative supply chain strategies, we can help FAO build a more robust, future-ready logistics framework.”
“We are grateful for HELP’s invaluable support in strengthening our logistics operations,” said Arslen Bounemra, Deputy Director of FAO's Logistics Services Division. “This collaboration is a critical step in ensuring our global efforts remain robust, so that we can achieve food security for all and guarantee regular access to high-quality food for healthier lives.”
This strategic partnership between FAO and HELP Logistics marks the beginning of a significant transformation for FAO's logistics operations. This was strongly highlighted by Rodrigo de Lapuerta, Director of FAO's Logistics Services Division (CSL): “Through the implementation of structured guidelines, comprehensive training programs, and a robust Logistics Policy, this collaboration will fortify FAO's logistics framework while equipping us with the adequate tools to tackle diverse challenges and fulfill our mandate to provide effective assistance to millions of people worldwide.”
