HELP Logistics and AHA Centre Join Forces to Strengthen Disaster Preparedness in ASEAN Region

Collaborating to Bolster Disaster Preparedness in ASEAN Region

HELP Logistics is pleased to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Intent (MoI) with the ASEAN Coordinating Centre for Humanitarian Assistance on disaster management (AHA Centre) on May 8, 2024.

This agreement underscores the commitment of both organisations to enhance disaster management preparedness in the ASEAN region. The present cooperation between the AHA Centre and HELP Logistics focuses on humanitarian logistics trainings, developing a logistics roadmap, IT system requirements for procurement of relief items, warehousing, transport, and other areas that will uplift humanitarian logistics capacities, especially in support of the Disaster Emergency Logistics System for ASEAN (DELSA).

The signing ceremony took place during the 20th Governing Board Meeting of the AHA Centre in Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam. Signed by Mr. Lee Yam Ming, Executive Director of the AHA Centre, and Mr. Colin Wee, HELP Logistics Asia Regional Director, the agreement outlines collaborative efforts in supply chain and logistics.

"This partnership marks a significant step forward for both the AHA Centre and HELP Logistics," said Mr. Colin Wee. "We are excited to embark on this journey together and are committed to making meaningful contributions to disaster preparedness and response efforts in the ASEAN member states."

The partnership between HELP Logistics and the AHA Centre holds great promise in strengthening resilience and improving disaster response mechanisms across the ASEAN region. By pooling expertise and resources, both organisations aim to play a pivotal role in enhancing humanitarian efforts during times of crisis.
